What the hell is up with stupid Royal Mail?

Every single time I'm expecting something in the post, it's delayed to get to me. EVERY TIME. On Tuesday night, I ordered a digital camera from Amazon UK and selected 1-day-delivery so it should have been here today but the mail hasn't even come. I live in North London and Royal Mail are USELESS, what is going on? Does anyone know?

Royal Mail London are currently on strike (or yesterday at least), over plans of pay cuts, staff reductions and office closures (and if these plans went ahead, the service would be even worse for you). The strikes may cause delay to some areas of the city.
Also, you need to be aware that 1-day-delivery only applies if you order it before a certain time. As you said that you ordered on Tuesday night, you might have missed the cut-off time (Amazon have to post it by a certain time, or it won't make next day delivery). This may cause your order to be a day late.

• So are your expectations too high then .. You might or might not know that there is industrial action going on in Royal Mail at the moment ..Lots of post people are being threatened with redundancy ,, so are trying do do something about it ..So unfortunately some delays will be incurred .. If Royal Mail have their way ,, you will have a depleted work force so as to save money, and worsened delivery schedules than at present .. Also think of those in remote areas ,,, They are threatened with no postal deliveries at all .Have to travel to collect mail from a central point .. Just be thankful you are not in their situation ..
