Mortgage Payment help for Unemployed People in the UK?
Is it true that the Department for Work and Pensions may help unemployed people with their mortgage payments after being out of work for 13 weeks.

Yes in certain circumstances where the person is claiming an income related benefit such as jobseekers or income support the council might be able to help you pay the interest on your mortgage. They will only pay towards the interest on the mortgage and won't pay anything towards the mortgage itself. So unless you can get your bank to agree an interest only payment for a while you will have to find the remainder of your monthly mortgage payment on your own. You can find out from your local council, or your jobcentre plus.
