Question on accounting?

I'm doing a sales ledger control account.
"sales day book total 43500"
is this relevant. Do i put it in? HELP

transfer the the total of sales day book to sales ledger control account, debit the sales ledger control account with the 43500 and credit it with things such as the total of discout allowed etc
