Can anyone recommend a secure service of sending and recieving payments for goods?

when importing and trust has not been established with a potential seller (exporter), how can i be assured the transaction of payment and goods will be successful?

If dealing with large sums of money or lots of international transactions, I would recommend looking into Global Collect
